Hello faithful followers! I appreciate you coming along for the journey. I have just migrated and upgraded this website to trekkinghome.com This will give me much more editorial freedom and I am excited to keep on writing, I hope you will head over there and keep up-to-date with…

Hey! Lynne here, I also go by my trail name “Lioness”. I am super passionate about new experiences that push me out of my comfort zone. I love spending time in the outdoors and propelling myself forward by my own means. I have found a profound sense of joy and freedom in my endeavors and have had my faith in humanity restored through random acts of kindness from complete strangers. I have fallen in love with the natural rhythm of the world and have come to fully understand how less is really more. I hope to help you realize that you too can accomplish anything that you set your mind to.

Appalachian Trail
When I was 18 years old, I took a gap year before beginning University. I set out to complete my first ever backpacking trip, alone. A thru-hike of the 2,189 mile Appalachian Trail. Walking from Georgia to Maine in 143 days. Find out more.

Biking Across America
After my first year of University, with the taste of freedom still lingering, I set out to bike across the country. My friend Jenny and I biked from Yorktown, Virginia to Astoria, Oregon, along the Trans-American Bike trail in 72 days. Read about the journey.
Additional Info
I graduated in August 2022 with a Bachelors in Social Work and Spanish from Central Michigan University. I was working as a wilderness therapy field guide in Utah until I broke my leg in March 2022. A few summers ago I had the chance to be a summer camp counselor and take a group of 16 years old’s out on a sea kayaking expedition in the Georgian Bay of Canada. In January- March 2020 I did a study abroad in Pamplona, Spain (which unfortunately was cut short by COVID). I spent the summer of 2020 as a white water rafting guide in the Vail Valley of Colorado.
